Meet the 2025 field

This year’s 20-player field features four of the top 10 players in the world (as of the eligibility date), including World No. 1-ranked Scottie Scheffler, the tournament’s two-time defending champion who won two of his four major championships in 2025. Scheffler is one of three past champions in the field, joined by 2016 champion Hideki Matsuyama and 2014 winner Jordan Spieth. The field features eight golfers who have combined to win 13 major championships. Eight 2025 Ryder Cup participants, including Robert MacIntyre, Justin Rose and Sepp Straka from the victorious European Team, are in the field as is Team USA captain Keegan Bradley and Team Europe vice captain Alex Noren.

Three players – 2025 U.S. Open champion J.J. Spaun, 2025 Genesis Scottish Open champion Chris Gotterup and Andrew Novak – will make their Hero World Challenge debuts. The 2025 field represents golfers from seven different countries (U.S., Scotland, England, Austria, Japan, Canada and Sweden).


Scottie Scheffler

  • World No. 1 and two-time defending Hero World Challenge champion
  • 2024 Paris Olympics Gold Medalist and 2024 PGA TOUR FedExCup champion
  • Four-time major champion (2025 The Open Championship, 2025 PGA Championship, 2022 and 2024 Masters)
  • PGA TOUR Player of the Year from 2022-24. Only the third golfer, and first since Tiger Woods, to win the award three consecutive years.

JJ Spaun

  • U.S. Open championship and THE PLAYERS Championship runner-up highlighted his career breakthrough 2025
  • Made his U.S. Ryder Cup team debut in 2025
  • Making his Hero World Challenge debut
  • Grew up dreaming of being a pro skateboarder

Robert MacIntyre

  • Two-time PGA TOUR winner and 2025 U.S. Open runner-up who played for Team Europe in the 2023 and 2025 Ryder Cup
  • On the European Tour, the Scot holds four titles and was named the 2019 Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year
  • Debuted in the Hero World Challenge in 2024
  • Dad was his caddie during his first PGA TOUR win

Harris English

  • 2025 PGA TOUR season included victory at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines and major runner-up finishes at The Open Championship and PGA Championship
  • Played on the 2020 and 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup teams
  • Making his second Hero World Challenge appearance
  • Bucket list includes skydiving & flying in an F16

Keegan Bradley

  • 2011 PGA Championship winner (while playing in his first major championship) and 2011 PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year
  • 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup captain who has played in two Ryder Cups and two Presidents Cups
  • Making his eighth Hero World Challenge appearance. Finished runner-up in 2012 and T3 in 2014

Justin Rose

  • Former World No. 1 whose 12 PGA TOUR wins are the most by a British golfer
  • 2013 U.S. Open champion and 2018 PGA TOUR FedExCup champion
  • 2016 Rio Olympics Gold Medalist, making him the sport’s first Olympic champion in 112 years. He also made the first hole-in-one in modern Olympic golf competition in 2016

Sepp Straka

  • Enjoyed his best PGA TOUR season in 2025, winning two of his four PGA TOUR titles
  • Played for Team Europe in the Ryder Cup in 2023 and 2025 and represented Austria in the 2020 and 2024 Olympic golf competition
  • 2023 Hero World Challenge runner-up is making his fourth consecutive appearance in the tournament
  • Travels to events with Diet Coke if the event serves Pepsi

Hideki Matsuyama

  • The only Asian golfer to win the Masters Tournament, in 2021
  • His 11 PGA TOUR wins are the most by an Asian golfer
  • 2016 Hero World Challenge champion and 2024 Genesis Invitational winner

Cameron Young

  • Won his first PGA TOUR title in 2025 at the Wyndham Championship
  • Made his Ryder Cup debut for Team USA in 2025 and led all Americans with three points earned (3-1 record)
  • Making third Hero World Challenge appearance; placed third in his event debut in 2022

Sam Burns

  • The most recent of his five PGA TOUR triumphs between 2021 and 2023 came at the WGC Match Play
  • Has played for Team USA in the last two Ryder Cups (2023 and 2025) and last two Presidents Cups (2022 and 2024)
  • Placed T3 in his Hero World Challenge debut in 2021 and is making his fifth consecutive tournament appearance
  • Loves to hunt and fish in his free time

Corey Conners

  • The world’s highest ranking Canadian golfer won twice on the PGA TOUR at the 2019 and 2023 Valero Texas Open
  • He played for the International Team at the 2022 and 2024 Presidents Cup, and placed in the top 13 while representing Canada in the 2020 and 2024 Olympic Games
  • Making his second Hero World Challenge appearance (also 2022)

Chris Gotterup

  • His two PGA TOUR wins came at the 2025 Genesis Scottish Open and the 2024 Myrtle Beach Classic
  • A Hero World Challenge rookie who ranks among the PGA TOUR’s driving distance leaders (a 316.7-yard average in 2025)

Wyndham Clark

  • 2023 U.S. Open champion and three-time PGA TOUR winner
  • Has represented Team USA at the 2023 Ryder Cup and the 2024 Paris Olympics and 2024 Presidents Cup
  • Making his third consecutive Hero World Challenge appearance
  • Self-proclaimed ping pong master

Brian Harman

  • Claimed the 2023 Open Championship among his four PGA TOUR wins, and was a runner-up at THE PLAYERS Championship in 2024
  • Played for Team USA at the 2023 Ryder Cup and 2024 Presidents Cup
  • Making his third consecutive Hero World Challenge appearance
  • Comes from a family of scuba divers and spear fishers

Andrew Novak

  • Breakout 2025 PGA TOUR campaign included his first title at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, a runner-up (via playoff) at the RBC Heritage and two third-place finishes
  • Making his Hero World Challenge debut
  • 2017 Wofford Intramural Basketball champion

Alex Noren

  • Sweden’s second-highest ranked golfer captured his 11th and 12th DP World Tour titles at this summer’s British Masters and BMW PGA Championship
  • Team Europe vice captain at the 2025 Ryder Cup and a player at the 2018 Ryder Cup. He also played in the 2020 and 2024 Olympic Games
  • Making his third Hero World Challenge appearance, and his first since 2018
  • Favorite show is Top Gear on BBC – big sports car racing fan

Aaron Rai

  • Claimed his third DP World Tour title and sixth international victory at November’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship
  • Englishman won his first PGA TOUR title at the 2024 Wyndham Championship
  • Debuted in the Hero World Challenge in 2024 and won the pre-tournament Hero Shot event
  • Wears two golf gloves – has done so since the age of 8

Akshay Bhatia

  • Since turning pro in 2019 at age 17, he has won PGA TOUR titles at the 2023 Barracuda Championship and 2024 Valero Texas Open
  • Placed fourth in his Hero World Challenge debut in 2024
  • His older sister sparked his interest in golf

Billy Horschel

  • 2014 PGA TOUR FedExCup champion
  • The only American to win the DP World Tour’s BMW PGA Championship twice (2021, 2024)
  • Making his fourth Hero World Challenge appearance

Jordan Spieth

  • 2014 Hero World Challenge champion won by a record 10 strokes, shooting 26-under-par 262 to become the Hero World Challenge’s first wire-to-wire winner.

  • 2015 PGA TOUR FedExCup champion who has represented the U.S. in five Ryder Cups and four Presidents Cups.
