Golf’s most exclusive round

There aren’t many rounds of golf more exclusive than the Hero World Challenge pro-am. Playing with one of the world’s top 18 players is matched only by the experience at Albany, Bahamas, making the pro-am a bucket-list experience for the most avid amateur golfers.

The pro-am at Albany is far more than just 18 holes with one of golf’s biggest stars. The event begins on Monday, November 27 with an optional practice round before Tuesday’s am-am competition. Following Tuesday’s outing on Albany’s championship course designed by Ernie Els, groupings are picked in a live draw for Wednesday’s Hero World Challenge Official Pro-Am. Ever wanted to play with the world’s No. 1 ranked golfer? The Hero World Challenge is where you can make that happen.

While the ability to play a round of golf at Albany, Bahamas is always special, at the Hero World Challenge pro-am, the amateur players get the benefit of experiencing the round from the pro’s perspective. The atmosphere allows the pros to focus on making sure the amateurs have a fun experience.

“What’s even more fun for me is helping the amateurs, helping them read putts and hit shots,” Tournament Host Tiger Woods said of the Hero World Challenge pro-am. “It’s about having fun…having a great time and showing the amateurs a fun experience.”

“We’ve had the opportunity to play with Dustin Johnson, with Steve Stricker, with Patrick Reed, and then Zach Johnson,” Hal Jacobs said of playing in the Hero World Challenge pro-am. “You’re guaranteed to play with a great professional and a great person. The people that come down here for this event, they know what they are involved in. It’s not just about the golf. It’s about the foundation and giving back.”

In addition to the best field in golf, one of the elements that make the Hero World Challenge pro-am so unique is the experience off the course. World-class hospitality is the standard at Albany. From the pairings luncheon on Tuesday to the intimate pro-am dinner on Wednesday, the chance to interact with your playing partners is second to none.

The professional golfers in the field also recognize how special the Hero World Challenge truly is. Playing week in and week out in pro-am events, the intimate nature of the pro-am experience at Albany isn’t lost on the pros.

“I think it’s a great pro-am because it’s small and select so it’s a cool experience for everyone,” Rickie Fowler said. “The week is definitely different than the other events we play. It’s laid back, relaxed, has a small field, great sponsors, and some fun people involved.”
